The Significance and Impact of the Cairo Declaration

It was in 2013 that coincided with the occasion of the 70 anniversary of the Cairo Conference. The International Conference on the 70 anniversary of the Cairo Declaration was hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China, Academia Historica, and Humanities Center, National Chengchi University, and co-hosted by Chinese (Taiwan) Society of International Law. The opening speech, international forum, keynote speech and essays of the conference were included in this work. On the basis of the Cairo Declaration, respectively from two perspectives – international law and diplomatic history – scholars discussed on the historical meanings of the Cairo Declaration and its influence on Taiwan, China, Japan and Korea, etc. The scholars and politicians from the U.S., the U.K., Netherland, Japan, Taiwan and China were invited to discuss, how they viewed on the Cairo Declaration in their countries and its legal authority; they also analyzed the influence on the international situation from the declaration. Via the exchange of different viewpoints and positions there’re plenty of academic achievements after the conference. Moreover, it’s worth further studying those ample historical materials.
