The Humanities Research Center of National Chengchi University is currently carrying out a research plan called “The Chinese Expeditionary Force and World War II”, which aims to examine how the Chinese Expeditionary Force of the Republic of China cooperated with armies of the Allies in Burma during World War II and to further investigate their impacts on politics, society, economy, diplomacy, culture and ethnic.

Our research team already held several workshops respectively in March, April, and May 2018. The upcoming conference will be held on August 25 and 26. In this 2-day conference, there will be keynote speeches, five panels for essay presentation, two young scholars’ forums, panel discussions on archives, and also a book launch of Mr. Chiang Kai-shek during the Chinese Civil War. It is expected that through these activities with prospective insights and diverse perspectives, we could not only arouse attention in the academia on the history of the Chinese Expeditionary Force but also build up a clear and integrated picture of their past.
