Summary of discussion:

Professor Kim experienced two transitional waves on methodological ideological trend. First wave was Systemique methodology in 1960s to 1980s and the second wave was the digital methodology after 2000. Professor Kim believed, among all the affected academic circles, these two waves of methodological ideologies affected largely on historical research so he changed his major form chemistry to historical science after this discovery.

Professor Kim said, according to Collingwood (1889-1943), that only those concepts can replay in mind are real, therefore, all the history is “history of thoughts”. He also pointed out that history should be condensed in concepts so that we can represent history by analyzing concepts because every conceptual word may content a period of history.

Professor Kim noted conceptual words are proofs and we can reconstruct the ideological transition in conceptual words by calculating, analyzing or retrieving large amount of conceptual words. This methodology can not only be applied to modern literature, history and philosophy studies, but also to classical studies.
